FIRST ENCOUNTER At every first encounter, our gaze is our ally, our companion, guarding our vigilance and bearing witness to our emotions. Somehow, it captures a tiny glimmer from behind the shyness, behind the introversion arising from circumstances. Our eyes discreetly search, analyse, look for recognisable detail, a known attitude, a familiar gesture. There, during the typical banter of a first encounter, our gaze captures something so familiar, so singular.
